1953 Fender Tweed Deluxe

Hello, today I’ve got a holy grail amp, a sweet tweed Deluxe hailing from 1953! This is the late ‘53 5C3 Deluxe circuit with one 12AX7 tube and an octal 6SC7 tube in the preamp section. This was a rarer circuit design that lasted from around November of 1953 to Spring of 1954 before Leo Fender made the switch to the more commonplace dual 12AX7/12AY7 preamp tubes. Recently serviced including new electrolytic caps and a grounded 3-prong cable by Hatt Amps in May. Powered by all NOS tubes including 2 vintage NOS 60’s RCA 6V6’s tubes, a Tung-Sol 6SC7, an RCA 7025 (the same thing as a 12AX7, just lower noise) and a NOS GE 5Y3 rectifier tube, this amp has that sound all the vintage enthusiasts look for. The original Triad transformers are still in there, which is always a huge plus considering you almost always see these early tweed amps with at least one replacement transformer, these are the heart and soul of these coveted vintage amps. The OT dates to early 1953 and the PT dates to late 1952 which was common for Fender amps since they just grabbed parts out of a box and wired them up. The original Jensen P12R is still there and sounds great! Tight and bright just like a Jensen should. What’s original: Transformers, speaker, tweed, grill cloth, knobs, most resistors, chassis, cab. What’s not original: Handle, fuse holder, most electrolytic caps, a few resistors, Fender logo. I’m down for local trades, mostly looking for a higher powered Fender tweed amp. Public meetup at the Hilliard Police Station or I can ship on your dime.
