FSOT Gibson GA-30RV Super Goldtone Fender / Marshall pre / Vox power amp!

For sale or trade! Trade for Gibson guitars, Gretsch guitars, Fender guitars, vintage or boutique effects. Let me know! This one has the 5-way foot switch that unlocks both channels at the same time and the effects loop!!! Has a bit of discoloration on the grills, but could be repainted fairly easily. Sounds fantastic, especially with these speakers! Early-2000s Gibson Super Goldtone GA-30RV, a seriously underrated 30-watt Class A tube combo from Gibson’s short-lived Super Goldtone series. The GA-30RV uses four EL84 power tubes and reminiscent of a Vox AC30. It has a 100% tube preamp with two independent channels. Preamp 1 is Fender-like and covers big, warm cleans through pushed vintage tones, while Preamp 2 is Marshall-like and adds considerably more gain and can move from crunch into saturated overdrive. A switchable boost is available on either channel. One of the coolest features of the GA-30RV is its unusual 1x10 + 1x12 speaker configuration. The original speakers in this example have been replaced with an excellent combination: • Celestion G10 Greenback 10” • Weber Silver Bell 12” The Greenback adds classic British midrange character and punch, while the Silver Bell brings a bigger, smoother voice with excellent harmonic detail. It’s a great match for the amp’s EL84 output section and gives this particular GA-30RV its own character compared with the stock Celestion Vintage 10/Vintage 30 configuration, which many feel (myself included) are too bright / trebly for this amp Also included is the desirable optional Gibson 5-way foot controller. This is much more capable than the standard two-button footswitch and gives you remote control over channel selection, boost, both preamps simultaneously, effects loop on/off, and reverb on/off. Running both preamps together is an especially useful feature, allowing the clean and overdrive channels to be blended into sounds you can’t get from either channel alone. Other features include separate EQ for each preamp, separate reverb levels for each channel, master volume, valve-driven Accutronics spring reverb, and a switchable series/parallel effects loop with adjustable send and return levels. The GA-30RV was Gibson’s take on a high-end British Class A combo and originally carried a premium price. With 30 watts through four EL84s, it has considerably more authority and stage volume than a typical small Class A combo while still giving you the touch sensitivity, compression and harmonic richness these circuits are known for. Think of it as a Vox AC30 on steroids! A very cool and increasingly hard-to-find Gibson amp, particularly with the optional 5-way controller. Excellent choice for blues, classic rock, roots, alternative, recording, or anyone looking for something well outside the usual Fender/Vox/Marshall choices. Open to trades. Let me know what you got!
