SCHAGERL GANSCH HORN Bb TRUMPET M/LIGHT—CSTM SATIN+24K GOLD—FAST/QUIET

It's rare that we get two one-of-a-kind Schagerls to re-home, but this is one of those times. This particular Austrian unicorn is a Schagerl Gansch Horn Bb Trumpet in "Light," but it feels more like a Medium Light. A very fat, warm and creamy tone from a horn that has been put through its paces. This beauty features a stunning rare and original metallic color-shifting vintage distressed finish with clear satin lacquer and 24K Gold sections and accents. It's also rare in that it features two fast Amado water keys at specific drainage points (to increase speed) and it comes with very unusual light blue/green/fuchsia striped opal finger buttons that complement the horn perfectly. This beauty was a touring horn with a famous artist who passed it on to the seller (our client) and was kept in his collection. You'll notice that it is listed for substantially less than the other (Heavy) Gansch we have for sale. That's because this one had a few minor touring "love" dents that were pressed out and fully repaired some years ago. There are a few spots where the original finish is missing but the entire horn has been refinished beautifully. You barely feel anything with your finger on the horn—except for a few token spots on the bell and around the rear pipes (notated in one of the photo composites—barely visible). It's a non-issue and the seller said that the horn probably gets its great tone and character from having a few beauty bumps. The entire horn was also refinished in an incredibly wild and beautiful hand-pressed multi-color metallic dye that was finished in satin lacquer—the horn turns heads constantly. There is NO other horn like it on Earth. The most amazing thing about this horn is the warm tone and how easy it is to slot and play. It's like an old Martin guitar that just sings with barely any effort—or an old Martin Committee with far more control and precision. A Chet Baker and Roy Hargrove tone is a cakewalk with even a ballpark-size mouthpiece. This comes from the stunning collection of a recording artist and this medium light Gansch is one of the best we've seen and heard. The action is so easy, smooth and lightning-fast. The seller also had the valves adjusted so that they are whisper quiet with amazing compression. The colors of this horn are unbelievable, especially with the blue-green-fuchsia of the opal buttons throwing off of the glossy green/gold/blue/purple metallic highlights in the vintage finish. Definitely the most unique and unusual finish that we've ever seen in a Gansch. If you've never played a Schagerl Gansch Horn before, then you're in for a real treat. Don't let the rotary valve orientation scare you—they're faster, smoother and help you slot much more easily than any other trumpet once you get accustomed to the slightly different and faster feel. The handmade valve block is precision at its finest. The direct response of the pistons and the smooth sound and feel of the rotary valves complement the widest, darkest and most complex tones all the way to the brightest and most compact tones—the sky is the limit with this horn. It will become your favorite horn in no time, especially with the totally free upper register. Blazing fast passages are a breeze and the horn is designed to be played one-handed (unlike traditional rotary trumpets) so that you can play plunger mute solos, turn pages or perform quick mute changes with ease. And the Gansch Horn's eye-catching swooped bell pipe design makes it a natural with a lowered jazz or blues placement, directing the tone exactly where you want it. Comes with a brand new original ultra-light Schagerl Hard-Soft Case that includes padded spacers and a double-mouthpiece case. Serial is obscured for fraud mitigation purposes. No mouthpiece is included (depicted with mouthpiece for demonstration purposes only). But we're confident that any mouthpiece you decide to use will complement this incredible instrument. We also have some fine and rare Bb recommended mouthpieces available for this horn available for separate purchase. The Monette Resonance, Unity and vintage Prana mouthpieces are really outstanding on this horn—as well as some other rare pieces we have in stock. This is listed in other places so it could sell at any moment. We don't anticipate it'll last long. Zelle or Cash preferred. We have a credit card server that we can make available if you cover the processing fees. Definitely no trades and we will only respond to serious inquiries. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go to arts education charities. We're willing to ship as long as the buyer covers for shipping and insurance. We use FedEx and ship instruments all over the world.
